Praise continues to come in for Bowie Knife Fights, Fighters, and Fighting Techniques. Norm Flayderman, noted antiques arms dealer and author of his own lavishly illustrated book on the bowie, recently wrote author Paul Kirchner, saying, “you have added substantially to the lore and legend of the bowie knife.”
Paladin author Dwight McLemore (Bowie and Big Knife Fighting System and Advanced Bowie Techniques) had these comments on BladeForums:
“A very clear survey of bowie knife fights from the 19th century to the present. It is a great desk-side reference for the history of the weapon and does a good job of placing the folklore and myth in the proper context. The artwork is dynamic and iconic; it provides a good break from the text. Paul’s use of the hard edge gives the feeling of the old woodcuts of the period. I would buy this book if only for the numerous references provided after each chapter. Good job, Paul.”
